Cutting-edge electron microscopy: A novel insight into advanced lightweight structural materials
The project aims to improve and intensify the scientific cooperation between two eminent electron microscopy research laboratories and connect the experts in the field of a scanning (ISI Brno, CAS) and a transmission electron microscopy (Toyama University) in order to obtain a novel insight into advanced lightweight materials structure. A multidisciplinary research team (physicists, materials engineers, materials designers) consisting of experienced researchers, early-stage researchers, and mainly students come together to develop novel imaging techniques for accurate characterization of advanced lightweight alloys. Both institutions will provide their state-of-the-art instruments and share unique knowledge, which opens new possibilities for correlative imaging. Outputs of the project will be mutual papers in prominent scientific journals and patents. The project will support and training young researchers and students via student workshops, schools and webinars. Within this project, a large international project will be prepared together with other Czech and Japanese institutes.
