As part of the project, we aim to develop a user-friendly software tool that will significantly enhance the quality of steel structure imaging using a light microscope, bringing it closer to the imaging quality of a scanning electron microscope. By utilizing advanced artificial intelligence methods, such as Generative Adversarial Networks and particularly Diffusion Models, we will create a machine learning model capable of processing input images of steel captured by a light microscope and converting them into images approaching the contrast and resolution quality of those obtained with an electron microscope. This model will serve as the core of a cloud-based tool offered to end users, such as steel plants, foundries, forges, fastener manufacturers, metallographic laboratories in research centers, and potentially universities.
