Venue:

The Workshop will take place at the very center of Brno-city , near some of its historical highlights , just within a short walking distance from your recommended hotels.

We hope you will enjoy two unique historical sites for our Workshop sessions:

Both the Dietrichstein Palace and the Bishop Courtyard are situated in the upper part of a pistoresque large square, called "Zelny trh" (the Cabbage Market with the Parnassus Fountain ), just below a magnificent dominant of Brno, called "Petrov" (St. Peter's and Paul's Church), and just 100 meters from the historical Old Town Hall with an Information Center.

See this site for more information about these and other historical places in Brno.

Brno , the second largest city in the Czech Republic (about 400 000 inhabitants), is situated near a nice green area known as Moravian Carst. It has a pictoresque well-preserved historical center and large pedestrian zones. Brno also has a rich cultural heritage and relaxed shopping possibilities, competitive with its larger neighbours, Vienna to the south and Prague to the north-west.

Several excellent world-famous scientists lived in Brno:
Brno may be reached most efficiently from the international airports in Praha (Prague) or Wien (Vienna). See here for time-tables of trains and buses in the CR. Here are some Czech info' links , too ...

Weather:

The weather in Brno in November may be already somewhat chilly, with temperatures somewhere between 3-10 ° C. Umbrella recommended, too ...

Safety:

Brno is a relatively safe city on western-European standards. Anyway, you should always pay attention to your belongings and valuables, especially near railway stations, crowded places, etc.
